Highlands Bluebirds (Fort Thomas, KY) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Newport Wildcats (Newport, KY), 63-22 in a league bout.

With the win, Highlands upgrades its record to 11-5 on the season. The Bluebirds travel to Newport Central Catholic (Newport, KY) to clash with the Thoroughbreds in a District 36 bout on Thursday, January 12. The Thoroughbreds go into the bout with a record of 10-5. Newport Central Catholic won 65-48 in their recent non-league bout against Scott (Covington, KY)

Next up, the Wildcats clash with the Villa Madonna Vikings (Covington, KY) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, January 12. Newport will attempt to upgrade on its 1-6 season record. The Vikings go into the bout with a 0-10 record after their 65-33 league loss to Ludlow (Ludlow, KY).
