In Tuesday's non-league outing, the Mt. Vernon Rams (Mt. Vernon, IL) basketball squad edged the host Triad Knights (Troy, IL), by a count of 40-35.
The Rams (15-4) will now prepare for their outing against Carbondale (Carbondale, IL). The Terriers go into the South Seven outing with a 6-13 record. In their last outing, Carbondale was tipped by Marion (Marion, IL), 58-39, in a league outing.
The Knights now hold a 3-10 record. They play next when they travel to Waterloo for a Mississippi Valley outing on Thursday, January 12. Triad will clash with a Bulldogs squad coming off a 56-50 non-league win over Collinsville (Collinsville, IL). The Bulldogs record now stands at 12-6.
