The Van Wert Cougars basketball team scored 63 points and held the host Paulding Panthers to 26 in the Cougars non-league triumph on Tuesday.

The Cougars now sport a 8-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Memorial for a Western Buckeye contest on Thursday, January 12. Van Wert will battle a Roughriders team coming off a 54-48 league loss to Ottawa-Glandorf (Ottawa, OH). The Roughriders record now stands at 8-6.

The Panthers (1-11) will now prepare for their contest against Delta (Delta, OH). The Panthers enter the non-league contest with a 5-8 record. In their last contest, Delta was routed by Bryan (Bryan, OH), 61-38, in a league contest.
