Smithsburg Leopards (Smithsburg, MD) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Hancock Panthers (Hancock, MD), 81-35 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Smithsburg upgrades its record to 9-2 on the season. The Leopards travel to Governor Thomas Johnson (Frederick, MD) to clash with the Patriots in a non-league bout on Friday, January 12. The Patriots go into the bout with a record of 6-4. Governor Thomas Johnson lost 45-37 in their recent league bout against South Hagerstown (Hagerstown, MD)

Next up, the Panthers clash with the Turkeyfoot Valley Area Rams (Confluence, PA) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, January 11. Hancock will attempt to upgrade on its 1-7 season record. The Rams go into the bout with a 7-3 record after their 76-62 league win over Shanksville Stonycreek (Shanksville, PA).
