Holy Cross Crusaders (Waterbury, CT) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Wilby Wildcats (Waterbury, CT), 74-65 in a league bout.

With the victory, Holy Cross upgrades its record to 5-2 on the campaign. The Crusaders host Torrington (Torrington, CT) to play the Raiders in a Naugatuck Valley bout on Friday, January 12. The Raiders come into the bout with a record of 5-2. Torrington won 70-67 in their recent league bout against St. Paul Catholic (Bristol, CT)

Next up, the Wildcats play the Wolcott Eagles (Wolcott, CT) in a Naugatuck Valley bout, on Monday, January 15. Wilby will attempt to upgrade on its 6-1 season record. The Eagles come into the bout with a 1-7 record after their 63-52 league loss to Woodland Regional (Beacon Falls, CT).
