North Carolina High School Basketball - Sanderson holds off Apex

Fans at Wednesday's non-league test between the Sanderson Spartans (Raleigh, NC) and the visiting Apex Cougars (Apex, NC), witnessed Sanderson's basketball squad nip Apex by a margin of 49-44.
The Spartans (4-9) will now prepare for their test against Athens Drive (Raleigh, NC). The Jaguars go into the non-league test with a 3-7 record. In their last test, Athens Drive was tipped by Wakefield (Raleigh, NC), 45-29, in a non-league test.
The Cougars now own a 3-5 record. They play next when they host Middle Creek for a non-league test on Friday, January 12. Apex will encounter a Mustangs squad coming off a 55-53 non-league loss to Holly Springs (Holly Springs, NC). The Mustangs record now stands at 2-8.
