Iowa High School Basketball - Benton can't hold off Independence

The Independence Mustangs nipped the visiting Benton Bobcats basketball squad by a final score of 43-38 in Friday's league outing.

Next, the Mustangs face the West Delaware Hawks (Manchester, IA) in a non-league outing, on Tuesday, January 14. Independence will attempt to upgrade on its 6-5 season record. The Hawks enter the outing with a 2-9 record after their 64-37 non-league loss to Wahlert (Dubuque, IA).

The Bobcats (3-8) will now prepare for their outing against South Tama County (Tama, IA). The Trojans enter the WAMAC - West outing with a 1-9 record. In their last outing, South Tama County was nipped by Solon (Solon, IA), 92-23, in a non-league outing.
