The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Brother Rice Crusaders (Chicago, IL) and the host De La Salle Meteors (Chicago, IL), observed Brother Rice's basketball team knock off De La Salle by a score of 51-42.

The Crusaders (15-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Lincoln-Way East (Frankfort, IL). The Griffins come into the non-league challenge with a 9-7 record. In their last challenge, Lincoln-Way East was knocked off by Homewood-Flossmoor (Flossmoor, IL), 68-41, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Meteors encounter the St. Laurence Vikings (Burbank, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 14. De La Salle will attempt to improve on its 8-8 season record. The Vikings come into the challenge with a 14-4 record after their 66-62 non-league loss to Chaminade (St. Louis, MO).
