The Shepard Astros basketball squad (Palos Heights, IL), was nudged 58-54 in Friday's league battle with the host Oak Forest Bengals (Oak Forest, IL)

With the victory, Oak Forest advances its record to 10-7 on the year. The Bengals travel to Sandburg (Orland Park, IL) to meet the Eagles in a non-league battle on Saturday, January 11. The Eagles enter the battle with a record of 8-7. Sandburg lost 91-31 in their recent league battle against Homewood-Flossmoor (Flossmoor, IL)

The Astros now own a 7-10 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Hillcrest for a South Suburban battle on Tuesday, January 14. Shepard will meet a Hawks squad coming off a 61-51 non-league loss to Kenwood (Chicago, IL). The Hawks record now stands at 8-6.
