The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Monte Vista Mustangs (Danville, CA) and the visiting De La Salle Spartans (Concord, CA), observed Monte Vista's basketball team edge De La Salle by a score of 36-32.

The Mustangs (13-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Granada (Livermore, CA). The Matadors come into the challenge with a 2-4 record. In their last challenge, Granada was tipped by Foothill (Pleasanton, CA), 56-29, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Spartans encounter the Mountain House Mustangs (Mountain House, CA) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, January 18. De La Salle will attempt to improve on its 8-2 season record.
