The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the Farmington Scorpions (Farmington, NM) and the host Shiprock Chieftains (Shiprock, NM), observed Farmington's basketball team overwhelm Shiprock by a score of 83-38.
The Scorpions (9-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Miyamura (Gallup, NM). The Patriots come into the non-league challenge with a 1-2 record. In their last challenge, Miyamura was routed by Thoreau (Thoreau, NM), 47-40, in a non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Chieftains battle the Pojoaque Valley Elks/Elkettes (Pojoaque, NM) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, January 11. Shiprock will attempt to improve on its 2-3 season record.
