In Friday's non-league contest, the visiting Mitchell Kernels basketball team scored a close 63-58 triumph over the Yankton Bucks/Gazelles.
The Kernels (2-3) will now prepare for their contest against Brookings (Brookings, SD). The Bobcats go into the non-league contest with a 0-0 record.
In their next game, the Bucks/Gazelles confront the Watertown Arrows (Watertown, SD) in a non-league contest, on Friday, January 17. Yankton will attempt to better on its 0-1 season record. The Arrows go into the contest with a 1-1 record after their 71-15 non-league win over Great Plains Lutheran (Watertown, SD).
