Fans at Friday's non-league battle between the Carl Hayden Community Falcons (Phoenix, AZ) and the host Apollo Hawks (Glendale, AZ), saw Carl Hayden Community's soccer squad hold off Apollo by a count of 2-1.

The Falcons (4-1) will now prepare for their battle against McClintock (Tempe, AZ). The Chargers enter the 5A Metro battle with a 4-5 record. In their last battle, McClintock was edged by Dobson (Mesa, AZ), 4-1, in a non-league battle.

Next up, the Hawks battle the Independence Patriots (Glendale, AZ) in a non-league battle, on Monday, January 13. Apollo will attempt to upgrade on its 6-2 season record. The Patriots enter the battle with a 3-3 record after their 2-0 non-league loss to Sunrise Mountain (Peoria, AZ).
