Gates Chili Spartans (Rochester, NY) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Brockport Blue Devils (Brockport, NY), 69-63 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Gates Chili upgrades its record to 1-0 on the season. The Spartans host Webster Thomas (Webster, NY) to play the Titans in a Section 5 Monroe County II bout on Friday, January 13. The Titans go into the bout with a record of 0-2. Webster Thomas lost 43-39 in their recent non-league bout against Aquinas Institute (Rochester, NY)

In their next game, the Blue Devils face the Greece Athena Trojans (Rochester, NY) in a Section 5 Monroe County III game, on Wednesday, January 18. Brockport will attempt to move on its 6-5 season record. The Trojans enter the game with a 1-1 record after their 60-51 league win over Mendon (Pittsford, NY).
