Fans at Wednesday's league challenge between the Leflore County Tigers (Itta Bena, MS) and the visiting Leland Cubs (Leland, MS), saw Leflore County's basketball squad overcome Leland by a tally of 49-31.

With the victory, Leflore County improves its record to 5-8 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Riverside (Avon, MS) to confront the Bulldogs in a 2A Region 3 challenge on Friday, January 13. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a record of 9-7. Riverside lost 50-46 in their recent league challenge against North Side (Shelby, MS)

Next up, the Cubs confront the Coahoma County Red Panthers (Clarksdale, MS) in a 2A Region 3 challenge, on Tuesday, January 17. Leland will attempt to improve on its 0-10 season record. The Red Panthers come into the challenge with a 17-2 record after their 53-30 league win over North Side (Shelby, MS).
