Seneca Fighting Irish (Seneca, IL) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host St. Bede Bruins (Peru, IL), 73-52 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Seneca upgrades its record to 17-1 on the campaign. The Fighting Irish host Marquette (Ottawa, IL) to play the Crusaders in a Tri-County bout on Friday, January 13. The Crusaders come into the bout with a record of 12-5. Marquette won 59-38 in their recent non-league bout against Newark (Newark, IL)

Next up, the Bruins play the Bureau Valley Storm (Manlius, IL) in a Three Rivers - East bout, on Friday, January 13. St. Bede will attempt to upgrade on its 5-12 season record. The Storm come into the bout with a 4-14 record after their 78-53 non-league loss to Byron (Byron, IL).
