The George Wythe Maroons basketball team scored 58 points and restricted the visiting Craig County Rockets to 16 in the Maroons non-league victory on Wednesday.

The Maroons now sport a 9-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Fort Chiswell for a Mountain Empire contest on Friday, January 13. George Wythe will battle a Pioneers team coming off a 66-55 non-league loss to Lebanon (Lebanon, VA). The Pioneers record now stands at 8-5.

The Rockets (0-8) will now prepare for their contest against Bland County (Rocky Gap, VA). The Bears come into the non-league contest with a 7-8 record. In their last contest, Bland County triumphed over Giles (Pearisburg, VA), 46-43, in a league contest.
