Elk Grove Grenadiers (Elk Grove Village, IL) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Jacobs Golden Eagles (Algonquin, IL), 34-20 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Elk Grove upgrades its record to 6-13 on the campaign. The Grenadiers travel to Hersey (Arlington Heights, IL) to play the Huskies in a Mid-Suburban - East bout on Thursday, January 12. The Huskies come into the bout with a record of 16-4. Hersey lost 63-50 in their recent non-league bout against Alton (Alton, IL)

Next up, the Golden Eagles play the Prairie Ridge Wolves (Crystal Lake, IL) in a Fox Valley bout, on Friday, January 13. Jacobs will attempt to upgrade on its 3-15 season record. The Wolves come into the bout with a 10-7 record after their 63-27 league loss to Hampshire (Hampshire, IL).
