The Minersville Battlin' Miners basketball team scored 39 points and held the visiting South Williamsport Mountaineers to 37 in the Battlin' Miners non-league triumph on Wednesday.

The Battlin' Miners now sport a 4-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Marian Catholic for a non-league contest on Friday, January 13. Minersville will meet a team coming off a 86-24 league win over Nativity BVM (Pottsville, PA). The record now stands at 9-1.

The Mountaineers (7-5) will now prepare for their contest against Northwest Area (Shickshinny, PA). The Rangers enter the Mid-Penn - D4 contest with a 3-2 record.
