The Mulberry Panthers (Mulberry, FL) basketball knocked off the visiting Winthrop College Prep Academy Spartans (Riverview, FL), 40-28 in Wednesday's non-league test.
The Panthers (8-2) will now prepare for their test against McKeel Academy (Lakeland, FL). The Wildcats go into the 4A District 7 test with a 5-4 record. In their last test, McKeel Academy notched a victory over Victory Christian Academy (Lakeland, FL), 32-30, in a non-league test.
The Spartans now own a 4-11 record. They play next when they host St. Petersburg Catholic for a non-league test on Thursday, January 12. Winthrop College Prep Academy will encounter a Barons squad coming off a 38-31 non-league loss to Clearwater Central Catholic (Clearwater, FL). The Barons record now stands at 12-4.
