Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Benedictine Cadets (Richmond, VA) and the host Steward Spartans (Richmond, VA), saw Benedictine's basketball squad knock off Steward by a count of 55-44.

With the victory, Benedictine upgrades its record to 7-4 on the campaign. The Cadets travel to Virginia Episcopal School (Lynchburg, VA) to play the Bishops in a non-league challenge on Saturday, January 13. The Bishops come into the challenge with a record of 6-4. Virginia Episcopal School lost 60-56 in their recent league challenge against North Cross (Roanoke, VA)

Next up, the Spartans play the Norfolk Christian Ambassadors (Norfolk, VA) in a Tidewater Independent challenge, on Tuesday, January 16. Steward will attempt to upgrade on its 8-4 season record. The Ambassadors come into the challenge with a 6-4 record after their 68-51 non-league loss to Christchurch School (Christchurch, VA).
