Masuk Panthers (Monroe, CT) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Pomperaug Panthers (Southbury, CT), 56-54 in a league bout.

With the win, Masuk upgrades its record to 5-4 on the season. The Panthers travel to Bunnell (Stratford, CT) to clash with the Bulldogs in a Southwest bout on Tuesday, January 16. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 6-2. Bunnell won 88-52 in their recent league bout against Brookfield (Brookfield, CT)

Next up, the Panthers clash with the New Milford Green Wave (New Milford, CT) in a Southwest bout, on Tuesday, January 16. Pomperaug will attempt to upgrade on its 3-5 season record. The Green Wave go into the bout with a 2-6 record after their 54-51 league loss to Joel Barlow (Redding, CT).
