St. Joseph Falcons (Metuchen, NJ) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Monroe Township Falcons (Monroe Township, NJ), 53-46 in a league bout.

With the victory, St. Joseph upgrades its record to 9-2 on the campaign. The Falcons host Montgomery (Skillman, NJ) to play the Cougars in a non-league bout on Sunday, January 14. The Cougars come into the bout with a record of 8-1. Montgomery won 64-47 in their recent non-league bout against The Pingry School (Martinsville, NJ)

Next up, the Falcons play the South Brunswick Vikings (Monmouth Junction, NJ) in a Greater Middlesex - Red bout, on Saturday, January 13. Monroe Township will attempt to upgrade on its 8-2 season record. The Vikings come into the bout with a 2-8 record after their 51-47 league loss to East Brunswick (East Brunswick, NJ).
