The Cranston East Thunderbolts basketball team scored 72 points and held the visiting Classical Purples to 28 in the Thunderbolts non-league triumph on Thursday.
The Thunderbolts now sport a 3-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to La Salle Academy for a non-league contest on Friday, January 12. Cranston East will meet a Rams team coming off a 65-32 non-league loss to Bishop Hendricken (Warwick, RI). The Rams record now stands at 3-1.
The Purples (1-4) will now prepare for their contest against Barrington (Barrington, RI). The Eagles enter the non-league contest with a 1-3 record. In their last contest, Barrington triumphed over Mt. Hope (Bristol, RI), 42-40, in a non-league contest.
