Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Knott County Central Patriots (Hindman, KY) and the host Betsy Layne Bobcats (Betsy Layne, KY), saw Knott County Central's basketball squad hold off Betsy Layne by a count of 60-54.

With the victory, Knott County Central upgrades its record to 7-8 on the campaign. The Patriots travel to June Buchanan (Pippa Passes, KY) to play the Crusaders in a District 53 challenge on Friday, January 12. The Crusaders come into the challenge with a record of 2-5.

Next up, the Bobcats play the Johnson Central Golden Eagles (Paintsville, KY) in a non-league challenge, on Wednesday, January 17. Betsy Layne will attempt to advance on its 8-4 season record.
