Central McLean [Turtle Lake-Mercer/Underwood/McClusky] Cougars (Turtle Lake, ND) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Des Lacs-Burlington Lakers (Des Lacs, ND), 60-43 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Central McLean [Turtle Lake-Mercer/Underwood/McClusky] upgrades its record to 14-0 on the season. The Cougars travel to Bowman County co-op [Bowman/Rhame] (Bowman, ND) to play the Bulldogs in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 13. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 9-1. Bowman County co-op [Bowman/Rhame] won 62-49 in their recent league bout against Grant County co-op [Carson/Elgin-New Leipzig/Mott-Regent] (Elgin, ND)

Next up, the Lakers play the Bottineau Braves/Stars (Bottineau, ND) in a A Region 3 bout, on Tuesday, January 16. Des Lacs-Burlington will attempt to upgrade on its 8-3 season record. The Braves/Stars go into the bout with a 11-1 record after their 73-38 non-league win over Westhope/Newburg (Westhope, ND).
