Monett Cubs (Monett, MO) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host College Heights Christian Cougars (Joplin, MO), 61-43 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Monett upgrades its record to 8-5 on the campaign. The Cubs host Hillcrest (Springfield, MO) to play the Hornets in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 23. The Hornets come into the bout with a record of 6-6.

Next up, the Cougars play the Exeter Tigers (Exeter, MO) in a Ozark 7 bout, on Friday, January 12. College Heights Christian will attempt to upgrade on its 4-6 season record. The Tigers come into the bout with a 2-4 record after their 73-19 non-league loss to Marionville (Marionville, MO).
