Prairie City-Monroe Mustangs (Monroe, IA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Grand View Christian Thunder (Des Moines, IA), 57-51 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Prairie City-Monroe upgrades its record to 9-4 on the season. The Mustangs travel to Greene County (Jefferson, IA) to play the Rams in a Heart of Iowa bout on Friday, January 12. The Rams go into the bout with a record of 0-11.

Next up, the Thunder play the Roland-Story Norsemen (Story City, IA) in a non-league bout, on Sunday, January 14. Grand View Christian will attempt to upgrade on its 2-7 season record.
