St. John Lutheran Saints (Ocala, FL) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Hernando Christian Academy Lions (Brooksville, FL), 36-33 in a non-league bout.

With the win, St. John Lutheran upgrades its record to 8-4 on the season. The Saints host First Academy (Leesburg, FL) to play the Eagles in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 16. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 5-5. First Academy lost 36-32 in their recent non-league bout against Redeemer Christian (Ocala, FL)

Next up, the Lions play the Northside Christian Mustangs (St. Petersburg, FL) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 12. Hernando Christian Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 6-7 season record. The Mustangs go into the bout with a 5-3 record after their 56-33 non-league loss to Clearwater Central Catholic (Clearwater, FL).
