Pine River-Backus Tigers (Pine River, MN) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Red Lake Warriors (Red Lake, MN), 79-25 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Pine River-Backus upgrades its record to 4-9 on the season. The Tigers travel to Laporte (Laporte, MN) to clash with the Wildcats in a A Section 5 bout on Tuesday, January 16. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 3-23. Laporte lost 58-26 in their recent non-league bout against Clearbrook-Gonvick (Clearbrook, MN)

Next up, the Warriors clash with the Fond du Lac Ojibwe Ogichida Ogichida (Cloquet, MN) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 13. Red Lake will attempt to upgrade on its 2-6 season record. The Ogichida go into the bout with a 0-4 record after their 35-26 non-league loss to Lakes International Language Academy (Forest Lake, MN).
