Iowa High School Basketball - Garner-Hayfield/Ventura holds off Algona

In Saturday's non-league contest, the host Garner-Hayfield/Ventura Cardinals basketball team scored a close 51-49 triumph over the Algona Bulldogs.
The Cardinals (6-5) will now prepare for their contest against North Iowa (Buffalo Center, IA). The Bison go into the North Iowa contest with a 4-7 record. In their last contest, North Iowa was tipped by Eagle Grove (Eagle Grove, IA), 71-67, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Bulldogs confront the Fort Dodge Dodgers (Fort Dodge, IA) in a non-league contest, on Monday, January 13. Algona will attempt to better on its 4-5 season record. The Dodgers go into the contest with a 2-8 record after their 59-57 non-league loss to Sioux City West (Sioux City, IA).
