The Payne Tech Lions (Newark, NJ) basketball crushed the visiting Columbia Cougars (Maplewood, NJ), 79-53 in Saturday's non-league bout.
The Lions now possess a 5-5 record. They play next when they travel to St. Benedict's Prep for a Super Essex - Independence bout on Tuesday, January 14. Payne Tech will play a Gray Bees team coming off a 79-45 non-league win over Holy Cross (Flushing, NY). The Gray Bees record now stands at 5-3.
With the loss, Columbia falls to 3-8 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Teaneck (Teaneck, NJ) to play the Highwaymen in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 11. The Highwaymen go into the bout with a record of 6-0.
