The crowd at Saturday's league challenge between the Ellsworth Eagles (Ellsworth, ME) and the host Houlton Shiretowners (Houlton, ME), observed Ellsworth's basketball team overcome Houlton by a score of 61-47.

The Eagles (9-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Hermon (Hermon, ME). The Hawks go into the B North bout with a 6-6 record. In their last bout, Hermon fell by Presque Isle (Presque Isle, ME), 39-36, in a league bout.

With the loss, Houlton falls to 5-5 on the campaign. The Shiretowners travel to Foxcroft Academy (Dover-Foxcroft, ME) to play the Ponies in a B North bout on Saturday, January 18. The Ponies go into the bout with a record of 2-6.
