The Liberty Bison (Winchester, CA) basketball edged the host Palo Verde Valley Yellow Jackets (Blythe, CA), 57-50 in Saturday's non-league bout.

The Bison now possess a 10-4 record. They play next when they host Canyon Springs for a Sunbelt bout on Monday, January 13. Liberty will play a Cougars team coming off a 67-44 league loss to Orange Vista (Perris, CA). The Cougars record now stands at 9-7.

With the loss, Palo Verde Valley falls to 5-11 on the campaign. The Yellow jackets host Southwest EC (El Centro, CA) to play the Eagles in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 14. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 3-12. Southwest EC lost 67-61 in their recent non-league bout against Vincent Memorial (Calexico, CA)
