In Saturday's non-league contest, the host West Caldwell Tech Eagles basketball team scored a close 52-46 triumph over the Newark Central Blue Devils.

The Eagles (4-4) will now prepare for their contest against Barringer (Newark, NJ). The Blue Bears go into the Super Essex - Independence contest with a 1-2 record.

In their next game, the Blue Devils battle the East Side Red Raiders (Newark, NJ) in a Super Essex - American contest, on Tuesday, January 14. Newark Central will attempt to better on its 0-7 season record. The Red Raiders go into the contest with a 3-3 record after their 78-50 league loss to St. Benedict's Prep (Newark, NJ).
