In Saturday's non-league test, the Western Christian Pioneers (Salem, OR) basketball squad knocked off the visiting Trinity Lutheran Saints (Bend, OR), by a score of 63-53.
Next, the Pioneers encounter the Chemawa Indian Braves (Salem, OR) in a 2A Tri-River test, on Tuesday, January 14. Western Christian will attempt to improve on its 9-3 season record. The Braves come into the test with a 0-6 record after their 78-33 league loss to Kennedy (Mt. Angel, OR).
The Saints (6-6) will now prepare for their test against Oakridge (Oakridge, OR). The Warriors come into the 2A East Cascades test with a 3-12 record. In their last test, Oakridge went down by Monroe (Monroe, OR), 57-40, in a league test.
