In Saturday's non-league contest, the host St. Edward Eagles basketball team scored a good 62-48 triumph over the Gilmour Academy Lancers.
The Eagles (15-0) will now prepare for their contest against St. Vincent-St. Mary (Akron, OH). The Fighting Irish go into the non-league contest with a 0-3 record. In their last contest, St. Vincent-St. Mary was topped by Archbishop Hoban (Akron, OH), 50-41, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Lancers battle the Trinity Trojans (Garfield Heights, OH) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, January 14. Gilmour Academy will attempt to better on its 5-8 season record. The Trojans go into the contest with a 2-1 record after their 58-34 non-league win over Lake Catholic (Mentor, OH).
