The crowd at Saturday's non-league challenge between the DeKalb Barbs (DeKalb, IL) and the visiting Belvidere North Blue Thunder (Belvidere, IL), observed DeKalb's basketball team knock off Belvidere North by a score of 40-22.

The Barbs (11-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Plainfield South (Plainfield, IL). The Cougars come into the non-league challenge with a 8-9 record. In their last challenge, Plainfield South was knocked off by Plainfield North (Plainfield, IL), 57-51, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Blue Thunder encounter the Freeport Pretzels (Freeport, IL) in a Northern Illinois 10 challenge, on Tuesday, January 14. Belvidere North will attempt to improve on its 5-13 season record. The Pretzels come into the challenge with a 13-4 record after their 56-54 non-league loss to Galena (Galena, IL).
