Iowa High School Basketball - Mercer County held off by Durant

January 11, 2025: Durant, IA 52747

In Saturday's non-league test, the Durant Wildcats (Durant, IA) basketball squad got by the visiting Mercer County Golden Eagles (Aledo, IL), by a score of 49-45.

Next, the Wildcats encounter the West Liberty Comets (West Liberty, IA) in a River Valley - South test, on Tuesday, January 14. Durant will attempt to improve on its 6-5 season record. The Comets come into the test with a 5-6 record after their 59-37 league win over North Cedar (Stanwood, IA).

The Golden Eagles (9-12) will now prepare for their test against Illini West (Carthage, IL). The Chargers come into the non-league test with a 11-9 record. In their last test, Illini West held off Mendon Unity (Mendon, IL), 47-40, in a non-league test.
