The crowd at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Panther Valley Panthers (Lansford, PA) and the host Nativity BVM Green Wave (Pottsville, PA), observed Panther Valley's basketball team overwhelm Nativity BVM by a margin of 52-10.

The Panthers (6-7) will now prepare for their challenge against North Schuylkill (Ashland, PA). The Spartans come into the Schuylkill County 1 challenge with a 6-3 record. In their last challenge, North Schuylkill trounced Tamaqua (Tamaqua, PA), 61-45, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Green Wave battle the Mahanoy Area Golden Bears (Mahanoy City, PA) in a Schuylkill County 2 challenge, on Monday, January 13. Nativity BVM will attempt to better on its 0-10 season record. The Golden Bears come into the challenge with a 6-5 record after their 71-33 league win over Tri-Valley (Hegins, PA).
