In Saturday's non-league contest, the host Marion Giants basketball team scored a close 49-48 triumph over the Fort Wayne South Side Archers.
The Giants (1-1) will now prepare for their contest against Michigan City (Michigan City, IN). The Wolves come into the non-league challenge with a 2-2 record.
In their next game, the Archers battle the Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran Cadets (Fort Wayne, IN) in a challenge, on Monday, January 13. Fort Wayne South Side will attempt to improve on its 7-4 season record.
