The Sanger West Hornets basketball team scored 50 points and limited the host Sierra Chieftains to 40 in the Hornets non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Hornets now have a 9-5 record.

With the loss, Sierra falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Chieftains travel to Chowchilla (Chowchilla, CA) to confront the Tribe in a game on Tuesday, January 14. The Tribe go into the game with a record of 10-2. Chowchilla won 50-28 in their recent non-league game against Mendota (Mendota, CA)
