Akron-Westfield Westerners (Akron, IA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Hudson Pirates (Hudson, IA), 64-32 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Akron-Westfield upgrades its record to 3-8 on the season. The Westerners travel to Alcester-Hudson (Alcester, SD) to clash with the Cubs in a non-league bout on Thursday, January 12. The Cubs go into the bout with a record of 2-6. Alcester-Hudson lost 51-43 in their recent league bout against Viborg/Hurley (Viborg, SD)

Next up, the Pirates clash with the Columbus Wildcats (Columbus Junction, IA) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 13. Hudson will attempt to upgrade on its 6-6 season record.
