In Thursday's non-league outing, the Gila Ridge Hawks (Yuma, AZ) basketball squad overwhelmed the host Alhambra Lions (Phoenix, AZ), by a margin of 76-52.

The Hawks (1-12) will now prepare for their outing against San Luis (San Luis, AZ). The Sidewinders go into the 6A Desert Southwest outing with a 5-8 record. In their last outing, San Luis smashed San Pasqual Valley (Winterhaven, CA), 38-37, in a non-league outing.

The Lions now own a 3-13 record. They play next when they travel to Camelback for a 6A Metro outing on Friday, January 13. Alhambra will clash with a Spartans squad coming off a 77-32 non-league loss to Desert Ridge (Mesa, AZ). The Spartans record now stands at 3-10.
