The Scotland Highlanders basketball team scored 47 points and held the visiting Avon Pirates to 27 in the Highlanders non-league triumph on Thursday.
The Highlanders now sport a 2-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Freeman Academy/Marion for a B Region 4 contest on Saturday, January 14. Scotland will battle a team coming off a 66-43 non-league win over Flandreau Indian (Flandreau, SD). The record now stands at 5-2.
The Pirates (0-6) will now prepare for their contest against Kimball/White Lake (Kimball, SD). The Wildkats enter the non-league contest with a 2-3 record. In their last contest, Kimball/White Lake ran past Corsica/Stickney (Corsica, SD), 57-38, in a non-league contest.
