Bearden Bulldogs (Knoxville, TN) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host West Rebels (Knoxville, TN), 62-61 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Bearden upgrades its record to 12-7 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to Heritage (Maryville, TN) to play the Mountaineers in a 4A District 4 bout on Tuesday, January 17. The Mountaineers come into the bout with a record of 9-7.

Next up, the Rebels play the Karns Beavers (Knoxville, TN) in a 4A District 3 bout, on Tuesday, January 17. West will attempt to upgrade on its 12-4 season record. The Beavers come into the bout with a 10-5 record after their 67-64 league loss to Oak Ridge (Oak Ridge, TN).
