Newtown Nighthawks (Newtown, CT) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Bethel Wildcats (Bethel, CT), 57-43 in a league bout.

With the win, Newtown upgrades its record to 5-3 on the season. The Nighthawks travel to Immaculate (Danbury, CT) to play the Mustangs in a Southwest bout on Tuesday, January 17. The Mustangs go into the bout with a record of 4-4. Immaculate won 46-36 in their recent league bout against New Fairfield (New Fairfield, CT)

Next up, the Wildcats play the Brookfield Bobcats (Brookfield, CT) in a Southwest bout, on Tuesday, January 17. Bethel will attempt to upgrade on its 2-6 season record. The Bobcats go into the bout with a 8-2 record after their 64-55 non-league win over Abbott RVT (Danbury, CT).
