Blue Island Eisenhower Cardinals (Blue Island, IL) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Oak Forest Bengals (Oak Forest, IL), 59-51 in a league bout.

With the victory, Blue Island Eisenhower upgrades its record to 7-13 on the campaign. The Cardinals host Argo (Summit, IL) to play the Argonauts in a South Suburban bout on Tuesday, January 17. The Argonauts come into the bout with a record of 2-15. Argo lost 52-49 in their recent league bout against Shepard (Palos Heights, IL)

Next up, the Bengals play the Providence Catholic Celtics (New Lenox, IL) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 13. Oak Forest will attempt to upgrade on its 6-10 season record. The Celtics come into the bout with a 5-11 record after their 69-37 league loss to Brother Rice (Chicago, IL).
