Lacey Township Lions (Lanoka Harbor, NJ) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Toms River East Raiders (Toms River, NJ), 64-62 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Lacey Township upgrades its record to 5-4 on the campaign. The Lions host St. John-Vianney (Holmdel, NJ) to play the Lancers in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 14. The Lancers come into the bout with a record of 4-8. St. John-Vianney lost 44-40 in their recent league bout against Raritan (Hazlet, NJ)

Next up, the Raiders play the Toms River South Indians (Toms River, NJ) in a Shore C - North bout, on Friday, January 13. Toms River East will attempt to upgrade on its 2-8 season record. The Indians come into the bout with a 2-8 record after their 57-41 non-league loss to Central Regional (Bayville, NJ).
