South Plainfield Tigers (South Plainfield, NJ) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting New Brunswick Zebra (New Brunswick, NJ), 57-21 in a non-league bout.

With the win, South Plainfield upgrades its record to 8-1 on the season. The Tigers host New Providence (New Providence, NJ) to play the Pioneers in a non-league bout on Monday, January 16. The Pioneers go into the bout with a record of 8-3. New Providence won 66-41 in their recent league bout against Dayton (Springfield, NJ)

Next up, the Zebra play the West Windsor-Plainsboro North Knights (Plainsboro, NJ) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 14. New Brunswick will attempt to upgrade on its 1-9 season record. The Knights go into the bout with a 2-8 record after their 59-56 league loss to Hightstown (Hightstown, NJ).
